TT 100 K181's? Those wheels are really smart. Is your garage bulging - or have you sold any bikes lately?

    Geez Polock!

The radial, lateral, and tangential stiffness of spoked bicycle wheels depends upon the rim’s bending inertia,
torsional inertia, the spoke sizes, and the spoke geometry.

Everybody knows this stuff! (eyes glassed over). I always thought that the long pokey things just held the big circular thing and the tire in place. :D

Strip it down to it's smallest component parts, prep & spray any metal parts, wash the plastic parts with soapy water & dry, repair any cracks from the inside with Q Bond, fill & rub down any blemishes on the ouside, carefully mask the lenses & 2 coat spray with plastic fender & trim paint.

Here's a couple of interesting features for a '77 bike.
The 'Reserve Lighting Unit', which switches the headlight to main beam if the low beam blows.
The 'Light Checker', which gives a warning if the brake light fails.

What happened to your pic of the bike on your first post? How much does this bike weigh altogether?

    Wiz,
Next time you lace, try using rubber bands instead of tape. It gives a little more movement to the spokes and you just snip them off when done.

Yes indeedy. VERY nice. Soda blast or "old school?"

And CVs no less, way back then. I thought they were solely a curse of the '80s.

Yes Fitz 38s no less, I hope I can afford to run this thing.
Ravenz 07, carb cleaner & a tooth brush (should that be teeth brush, if you don't live in Mich'?) judicious use of the rotary wire brush & buff what you can get at.

Starter motor refurbed, bushes & brushes were fine, just needed a good clean, it's a very robust piece of kit, but look where it is mounted. Frame stripped & ready for action.

Why aren't the rocker boxes symmetrical I wonder?

Very nice, btw. Does your chrome guy do cad plating as well?

Fitz, apparently earlier models had a big FO decompressor at that left front rocker cover, the decom' got dropped but the casting stayed the same.

Left casing has had the treatment, the right is in the waiting room & a bit of gasket making......(it looks like a mark near the 'Yamaha', but it's a shadow)

I don't know if the stock casings were laquered in those days, but I won't be coating them.

Now that's a SERIOUS band-aid if I ever saw one!

What a bunch of tomfoolery over an electric starter; nearly as bad of a debacle as the Norton 850 e-start. Hopefully the one on the Yammie at least worked.

    Interesting read. Thanx.

why dont you post your pics like this then so they will stay on threads forever? if you have them on your photo bucket you've done 99% of the work?

signed up for 15 creds at our local community college, then transfering them to michigan state university. Going for agri biz. After that, either farming, or my uncle, who just turned 30 is the manager for john deere landscapes for all of colorado, and is pulling in close to 60 figures.
I might work with him for a summer, see what that's like.

but ya, uploading pics with dial up sucks. I used to just upload a whole album on my computer before school, come back, and they'd be done

i need to dig this back out and get it running again ran fine when i put it in storage 10 years ago. very rare its a 1963 centaur folds up into a suitcase runs 35 mph everyone loved it when i took it out bike week in Daytona. has an old Clinton motor on it from what i am seeing worth a pretty good penny on ebay. I will have more time now to do restorations like i did in my spare time i just retired at age 47 and dont want to turn into a couch potato
