I'm not buying that for one minute. "Going on hiatus" maybe; spending some time riding that beauty; tending to Mrs. Wiz' "honeydew" list, yes--- but you're hooked, even if you don't know it.

Oh, and BTW; you got the hard part done when you got the pics into PhotoBucket; imbedding them in your post was only two more clicks away, and it doesn't cut into your upload limit like attachments do...

So here you go-- the only thing I would have done different would have been to eliminate the seat strap. Superlative work, you've outdone yourself.

Do you have any of your bikes in museums, thats a good place to display them.

Gorgeous bike. How does she run? Did you paint the gas tank yourself?

Tank is all my own work.
Bike runs great, stacks of grunt, but it does tend to 'stand up" in the bends.
The guys over at the XS site say to fit longer rear shock & drop the front a tad, I'll just see how she goes for a while.

Sound advice; but I'll bet you don't even need to change the rear shocks. Try dropping the front end about 20mm or so (as long as there's room for the top of the tubes to come up without bashing anything) and see what that does.

It has been my experience that the 650s don't really like the K81/TT100 type of tire. Compared to what is available today for older bikes, these tires, along with the old K70s don't do anything well. Back in the day it was all we had. My 650B is my best handling XS (out of 8) is running Bridgestone BT45s. It turns in well and holds a line. Very predictable. Suspension is all stock and fresh.
Just another way to look at your handling problem. YMMV.

Thank you for the kind words, but I posted the pic so that you would know that my handling advice came from a stock bike.
The picture was taken at Mabry Mill on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia. The 650 is really fun in the mountains! A flashback to youth!

    Wow... That's a class act.

So seeing a your hanging up the torque wrench, does this mean you're keeping this beast and doing some riding for a change?
