Not on my seca, but on my goldwing - but a good thing to remember.I had progressive springs put on my wing a couple of years ago. I was searching through old 'stuff' and found a decal advertizing the springs, so I thought - I should put it on the bike so next time it's in for work, they will know I've got progressive's in it. So I put it in an obvious place. On the fork tube. After the first ride of the year, I noticed a bit of oil on the garage floor. Huh. I had changed the oil and filter so figured that was where it came from. Nope - it was a leaking fork seal. My brand new decal was chewed up along the bottom 1/4 inch. Uh oh. I removed the dust cover and there was a puddle of oil sitting on the low side. I removed the decal and cleaned it up as best I could - still leaking. There goes another $200 to my local dealer. Then I remembered reading about a trick to clean seals using a piece of 35 mm film. Figuring I probably had pieces of oil soaked decal bits in the seal and maybe I could just clean them out - I gave it a shot. Biggest problem was trying to find a piece of 35 mm film in this house seeing as how we went digital years ago. Luckily I found some negatives from our wedding 40 odd years ago - and heck, who would miss that I cut it up, inserted it, spun it around the tube and ..... I think I fixed it! At least it didn't show a ring of oil on the dust cover after I bounced it a bunch or times and took it for a ride.
Still no oil ring. My local dealer is going to start hating internet motorcylce forums!
