    No problem Kerry, since you haven’t checked back in at all since you became a member and made a “parts wanted” post, Obviously you don’t really need them.....I’ll just put these back into inventory.

    Doug, on the 700 it’s pretty much the same thing as the others, are you looking for a boot for a 700 aircooled, or are you looking for the boot for an X……THOSE are a longer orange rubber boot since the plug is down in a well.

    700 aircooled. 85 N model. Not in a huge rush, so no problem if it takes you a while to get through the snow... Thank you.

    @hogfiddles if you have one that is at least salvageable I could fix it for @scoobydew

    I might have one that is in need of repair in the queue if you don't have one.

    :( oh man, yea I have a RH side cover panel but the tab that fits into the tank is missing so I've been looking for one.

    There's tons of LH cover panels on Ebay but no RH cover panels... must be pretty rare

    I appreciate any help. I do have a RH cover panel, but the tab was missing so the PO fashioned a homemade tab out of a toothbrush handle and stuck it to the cover panel but it doesn't fit snug into the tank grommet :(

    Often people drill a shallow hole, thread in a bolt,the build it up with plastic, abs cement, etc…. To form new bullet. Build the toothbrush part thicker and the re-shape.

    I believe there are some tutorials in the forums here too——me just haven’t seen them in a long time.

    Dan’s right— DO NOT throw them out….

    I’ll take your roughest one, as long as it’s at least semi there

    can get a lot of parts from German eBay, and it won’t get chopped

    I still have plenty of none bike related projects that I have to finish first but definitely let me know

    You wouldn't happen to have a side stand safety switch for an 82 XJ750 Seca would you? The PO on mine pulled the wires. I pulled the switch and cleaned it up
    and was talking with Len about rewiring it first to see if it still functioned. So the plan is to do that first, but working on my backup plan.
    Here's what mine looks like and the wiring I need to hook up (thanks Len)
    I also have moldable plastic to seal it in when I am done.

    Your wire colors are basically correct, and they will be oriented into the connector
    shell as follows………..NOTE that these orientations are as viewed from the
    rear side of the connector shell
    (where the wire enters the shell):

    (latch up here)

    X1 X2

    X3

    X1 = blue wire
    X2 = green wire
    X3 = black wire

    Any ‘81-83 xj750 engine will work…..Maxim or Seca. If you use a Maxim engine, you just need to make sure you use the seca engine mounts, and you may need to swap the shifter cover.

    I’ll check to see if I have any extra 750 engines……. I know I have several engines, but just not sure what cc at the moment.

    Thanks for taking a look at least. Tearing down a motor right now that may not be salvageable so I'd like to know my options. eBay wants 600$ and that's just a bit too rich for my blood

    Do you have a set of carbs to fit a 1985 maxim 700 I do believe, the title says the model code is an XJO 700cc. I do know it has the yics motor on it and i have a set of carbs for a non yics maxim 650/750 carbs but they won’t fit 1F9CD4E1-9DAE-447C-A45A-9FFB2E8DCFF3.png 285917B3-6506-448A-94F1-970CE392B953.jpeg

    Corrrct—- the 650/750 carbs are a different size.

    I don’t have any available right at the moment.... I’m rebuilding a set for someone right now and already cannibalizing my extra set. When I’m done, then I’ll know what I need to get to to re-complete THAT set...... but it won’t be quick. I’m semi-incapacitated with a tough case of sciatica at the moment, so moving real slow

    Wouldn't happen to have a spare 550 seca tank? I'd trade you a 550 maxim tank if you want with cash.
