This bike looks sick!!! Normally I don't like wrapping fenders to the floor, but you have done a marvelous job on this bike!!!

I have had a few pm's and questions about the fairing, and I just found this.

This is the same fairing I have except I cut the windsheild about in half to lower it's profile. It's a sport fairing Yamaha made. Found this one for sale here ... kinda pricey..(if he still has it, that would explain the pic with snow in the background!lol) I think I got mine for $45. but then again you don't see them very often and if it's what you need/want, I guess price is relative :D

Great build, since moving back to Texas I have no garage so not much has been done to my bike. This past summer all summer over 100 degrees now that winter is here freezing temps. I need to find a garage just so I can do the basics and someday start a project of my own, I like it everybody is willing to share what they are doing ask for input on a build and others that share when we have problems and we need a helping hand Thanks to everybody on this site

WRAP UP :D Here's a short video I made just for grins, messing around with some video editing software and my go-pro camera earlier this summer.

DISCLAIMER: Make sure your sound is turned down .. :D

    Voodoo Video

Well, I finally got the tires changed on her this summer :D I picked up a bike lift dirt cheap from one of the local online auction sites. Problem is, the lift was too short for my 750's. Easy fix... I just added a removable tail section. Works out great because I can drop the tail section to make tire removal easy..

    Stunning at so many levels.

    But,

Can I ask why you removed the final drive from the swingarm?

Two reasons actually; #1 - I needed to replace the rear brakes... but most importantly... #2- it was either that or remove the exhaust pipes 8O It was one of those "sooooo close" moments, but with my pipes there is about 1/4" of interference to clear the rear wheel with the drive intact.. no matter how I twisted or nudged or contorted... and that was even with the shocks unmounted and the swing arm all the way down :? DOH!

p.s. I fixed the video link in the previous post

my friend this is easily the cleanest most beautiful i have ever seen, and for it to come out of your home garage is absolutely incredible. i have an 82 650 myself and have been looking for ideas on straight pipe exhausts which you have given me in spades, did you end up using baffles or rejetting? and what did you do to get the led signals working? a "no load" or "variable load" flasher? or did you add resistor packs?

and one final question, my original clear on the motor of my bike is peeling off, when you finished buffing did you clear the covers?

    Thank you:D
I did not do any rejetting and am running with no baffles and I have not had any issues with backfiring or poor performance. This spring when I replace my plugs I will do a color test as I may add baffles because I need to wear earplugs when riding 'cause this beast is LOUD! :D
For the LEDs I completely bypassed the stock flasher and went with Signal Dynamic's self cancelling unit like this. Since I eliminated the stock controls by going this route I still retained self-cancelling signals :D
    [IMG]

...and finally...for the engine covers that were polished, I did not clear them. I simply use some mothers mag/aluminum polish a couple times per year to keep 'em lookin' good :D

    Thank you! :D

Damn! That's one beautiful, hot rodded xj!! Nice clean body lines, sick exhaust, and the fairing and fenders finish it off nicely!!
A true example of what a custom bike should be...
