    Hey

I have a new (to me) XJ650 that I picked up for $700 in September and it has run great all winter (I have been using it to get to/from work) but I have run into a couple small problems this week. I have the Haynes manual for the bike so that's a start and I would rather not have to take it in to a shop if it's at all possible. I was wondering what I should check into to begin with to make sure everything is running as well as it could be. The guy I bought it from said a mechanic told him the forks needed to be resealed but he had never gotten it done, is it a terribly expensive/difficult problem fix?

The most recent problem I have had is not starting. I opened up the case on the starter button and realized the blue wire connecting to the button is not connected anymore and there is no screw lying around in there to reconnect it, but i imagine it won't be too hard to replace.

Also, after reading the forums a bit and looking at my bike I realized I'll need to replace my fuse box too as it is the original model.

I should be able to dig into it this weekend hopefully if the weather clears up a bit.

    Thanks for any advice!
