Got the Intercooler fabricated and mounted. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to custom design a new set of triple trees. There is only 2 1/2" of travel before the fender hits the intercooler. The suspension travel is just under 5".

Thanks guys for the comments! I've been finishing up the details for the turbo. Headers are done. Intercooler done. I'm on the Airbox now.

I've been messing around with photoshop again and did a color combo. I'm thinking a flat metallic ferrari red with black combo. What do you guys think?

That red/black combo looks pretty sweet, man. I really like what you've done with your bike. It's an incredibly ambitious build, and it's coming out great!

A Major step just completed! The turbo header-intercooler-airbox fabrication is set. Now the triple tree redesign & a million small details to finish. The header & exhaust is all 321 stainless. I'm in the process of relocating down to the Atlanta Area, bye Detroit!

what are you going to do about the triple tree?
won't lowering the tree mounts down raise the bike back up, affecting handling?

Also, we need to research a stronger set of springs for the 6 spring clutch. Currently, the EBC ones i am running are starting to slip out around 12-15 psi, with the bike wanting to lift the tire in 3rd gear. I am unsure of the rate of these sprigns or even the stock ones for that matter, or where a suitable replacement would be found

    "Need Help!"

I was in the process of doing the six spring clutch swap, when putting in the primary driven gear, the spacer one and cylinder 10 bearing got A little jammed. I figured this was normal because it looked like a tight fit. So I took a piece of wood and lightly tapped on the spacer and it went right into place. I noticed right after that it wasn't turning correctly. There's a lot of friction. I think what happened was the primary driven gear was not aligned with the teeth? Therefore, not being perfectly center on the shaft. So I try to remove the spacer with the 2 6mm bolts, But it was jammed. I fabricated A gear puller to try to pull out the spacer. The first attempt I use A two slim of a press Point on the shaft and seem to push in some kind of seal on the primary driven gear. I felt it push in and now it's father inward in the shaft and maybe sideways? The second attempt I tried to use a larger centerpoint on the pull shaft and no matter how hard I cranked, it would not budge. This thing is really stuck in there. Has anyone ran into this problem before? any ideas? This is still the original parts too.

I solved my problem. The PRIMARY DRIVEN GEAR was getting cockeyed when using bearing puller. I whacked on the primary driven gear back into the engine and the bearing came right out. I inspected the bearings and the spacer and noticed some scoring from the binding. Luckley, I have a spare set. The XJ700 Clutch basket assembly is the same, so I'll install that in. I also swapped out the oil pump for the turbo pump with the correct chain and sprocket.

I want to keep the lines I have, so I'm going to have to come up with an offset that is close. Not really sure yet? If anything it would be lower in the front, which is not what I want, due to the ground clearance.

Our Clutch push rod is shared by the Yamaha Raptor ATV. Show I did a little digging and, even though the clutch is not the same, the style is. I found that, with a little engineering, a Lock up clutch could be adapted to the bike. You would need a spacer for the cover.

not sure why you needed a puller to get the primary gear off? mine came right off?

someone has done this raptor lockup clutch swap on the xs650 twins forum. they had to elongate the bolt holes for this to work, as well as modify the cover.

if you make a spacer for the cover, please make 2, i would need one also!
