To give a note of positivity, they've upgraded their website nicely now, but I can't say how accurate it is. I might make a trip down there in a few weekends to look for some pieces, and they do have a couple of lovely used bikes. Maybe the GF will want to get a that small XJ they have.

My day job is building and maintaining websites, including Powersports, so I'm admittedly picky about UX and site design. This one is *better*, but not great.

Thats pretty expensive for that bike - 1000$ is the top of where i would be imho.

Its tempting to ride over there and see whats up - but for 10$ for 3 valve shims, i'd hate to see what they want for a rack of carbs!

I can't say anything about their pricing, I've never really looked at it. The bike prices seem normal for shops around here. I expect them to be a third higher than direct, but there are some dealers that really overcharge, not going to say any names *cough*rjsportandcycle*cough*.

I consider this place to be more of an oddity, a browse-a-rama, not a place to refit your machine. From what I've seen of earlier posts, it's like most genre junk yards, prices are all flexible based on their mood and how well they know you.

    Well.....If its an xJ400 then it's a Maxim....the XJ400 Maxim - the Japan-market-only 400 inline 4 cyl.

Yamaha did some funky things with the 400. There was the XJ400 Maxim, XS400 Maxim, XS400 Seca, XS400 Special.

    If it's an xS400 it is a:

Maxim- if it has the maxim styling and or designation, but is a side-by-side twin

Seca -if it has the sporty styling of the other secas, and is a side-by-side twin

Special-ifit is the Special styling and is the side-by-side twin.

So.....there is no pic that is showing up for me, therefore I don't know what exact bike you're talking about.

Boy oh boy I would go crazy in there, so many tasty treats, and the Carbs man I would consider buying a handful and reconditioning them , then see if anybody would want them, which we all know they would. Interesting.....
