Need a part not in the diagrams!

    I’ve searched various xj900 31a parts sources and diagrams and I find the part I need isn’t even in the official Yamaha diagrams with no luck.
    I need the valve cover retaining support that sits over the cam shaft, or the one with the the cam bearing surface. Although that’s on the diagram but not identified.
    Any suggestions other than JB weld….

    You mean the cam cap that's threaded for the valve cover?
    Every head and its matching cam caps are line-bored, so they're not sold seperately.
    It's been done, but time-taking and very fernickety, to use another cam cap and make it fit yours.
