They are original but surprisingly still good. I'll be replacing them with braided when I get this to the shop I know that makes them for the bike on the spot for $150.

By the way, for anyone who was wondering. The battery is behind the spare gas bottles. It fit very well behind them.

Oh, and I designed the seat and had it cut for $65 at a local waterjet place and then cut the foam and a piece of suede to sandwich between the top and base of the seat.

You know I never even noticed the bottles till you mentioned them!

Fitz cut open some old hoses that looked fine on the outside & they were split internally! That's pretty good being able to get them done while you wait.

Oh, like the "cheek pads" on the seat too. Sign of a good bike when little details keep jumping out each time you look at it...

Also as far as the bottom mount headlight goes. I had a really hard time finding a headlight mount that worked for a bottom mount and found that a virago headlight mount was made for the same triple tree and fit perfectly. No rigging or machining something to work.

Sweet XJ man! This is pretty much what I wish I had the time to make mine look like. Gotta get a new seat made up and fine tune the front end. The new tail light is much better b.t.w. Simplistic styling and and the lines are very fast looking. The fender mounts are sweet too man. Any plans on the open headers? I rode mine like that and after 3 hours of riding almost lost my hearing. Alright time to get back to my ride.

I think im gonna leave it as is and just do some more things for looks. Keep debating on wrapping the exhaust black and need to clean up the wiring harness. Its a mess right now. The seat made the bike. Anyone who wants a seat designed post what u want and I can make a file that the waterjet places can use. Im good with adobe illustrator. Thats what I did mine with and they cut it based on that.
