I first got into video games with Pong, and here I am at 50 still playing.
Currently my main is World of Tanks (ya, still...faults and all), but I also play Battletech, and have played World of Warcraft for years (though not in the past two months).

Anyone else sepnd their downtime relaxing with semi-competetive play?

Played the golf game with my nephew on the computer, that's it. I prefer my music, and flyfishing and of course motorcycles.

Nope. I did spend a few years, starting in 2002, playing Americas Army. It was a free online multiplayer game developed by the Army for a recruiting tool. Weapons and movement were very realistic. I don't know if anyone joined because of the game though. Was over 50 when I quit playing.

Prior to that, a little Starsiege Tribes capture the flag gaming.

No games anymore. Fishing, hunting, riding...

I had an Unreal Tournament server about 12 years ago, that was probably the last time I played. I think now that I work in front of a computer I have no desire to play in front of one.

How about that, we are of the same vintage. I was never gifted at playing video games and I always lost at Pac Man. However, I do enjoy watching my sons play.

I used to play first person shooters, like Call to Duty, until I joined a shooting range....:)

In grad school in the 80's spent may quarters at arcades. I once had the high score for a short time at an arcade in a Chicago suburb on Defender. I also liked Joust.

It was first on the old NES and Sega Master System then Diablo 2 and Starcraft when I was a kid . I used to play World of Warcraft when it first came out way back in mid 2000's. Then League of Legends. But as I get older I enjoy playing games less. Unless it's with friends. Just feels like I could be doing something else instead of sinking hours into a game. Esp since years seem to go by faster. Maybe just a symptom of aging :\

Been playing co-op with a friend of mine for probably 20 years now, he is close to 80 and I'm over 50, ack...
So Dying light is our go to at the moment, but every other Call of Duty that was Co-op has been played, Quake, Rainbow Six franchise.
Playing solo, when I want to hurt my brain, Doom eternal... damn... fast paced ack.

Oh and I tried a shooting range once... made me realise I can't see shite that far away.

Been playing some sort of console game most of my adult life. I think it started in the service when I was in some remote area and had free time. After that I have been into open world games of all types. Games like "Horizon Zero Dawn", "Second Son" and many more. Being part of Play Station Plus, I get two free games a month. Normally one is worth playing and that alone pays for the yearly fee. Currently playing "Control". So yes have enjoyed playing for years.

I do not play online though, have seen many people in the service get so into on line gaming that they more or less forgot that they had a normal job. I kid you not, people being discharged over a gaming addiction. To each their own and as long as it does not become a negative thing in your life go for it :)

As a kid, my dad would never buy me an Atari, but I played arcade games at the bowling alley, mostly when I was supposed to be bowling. I ended up buying my own use Atari later (which I still have) and building an Apple 2 clone which I played a lot of games on. Got an Amiga 1000 in college and did a lot of gaming and coding on that. Much later, I played a bunch of Quake III Arena with co-workers. We had a training room and those PCs were just perfect for a bunch of guys doing a LAN party! I got into Halo on XBox as something to do with the boys. I've played all the Halo games through and a fair amount online. Lots of time into Skyrim over the years as well!

I jumped out of a plane once and enjoyed it. It was a static line jump at 3000 ft, so I assume no where near the experience of actual sky diving.
