Just the bike. Rain gear for when I need it. Heated jacket, balaclava, and heavy gloves for when I need it (hit the 20's the other night).

Have put about 5k miles on it in less than two months I think. Can't wait to have some money and start doing some mods.

The same thing I was driving back when I originally answered this thread in 2008-- '08 WV Wabbit, 2.5L (gas) 5-speed; except now it has 188,000+ miles on it.

And if you don't believe you can drive a bike in the winter feast your eyes on this blast from the past. Me and my XS in early '81 or '82.

Oh, I seem to have less hair now.

Don't trade it in for a Compass. My wife has an 07 and it's terrible for anything but road use.

since i'm still commuting 40 miles one way, I drive a '95 Grand Am rust bucket with 160k owned by the parents. its falling apart fast because it seems PO never sprayed it clean from the underside after winter season was done. seriously rust falls from beneath it everyday but at 28~30 mpg it does the job.

since i'm moving closer to work (only 5 miles!) in a few weeks hopefully (closing contract period) I recently picked up my own vehicle. '94 Chevy cheyenne V6 pickup truck in great shape. a lot of miles 157k but for only $1700 it should suit my desires for a long time with a solid 4.3L engine very similar to chevy astro vans.

Having a long commute as well, I purchased an 08 elantra SE 5spd when it was new. Winter gets ~32mpg, summer gets ~38mpg. Already have 150k+ on this.

Wife drives a 99 econoline conversion. We bought this for the trip to florida from Michigan, which worked out very well. She still drives it around and to school, but it gets about 12 mpg. ugh.

    I have a 2000 F150 4x4, but tranny is dieing, so I don't drive it now.

My daily transportation to work and back is an '04 TP Cruiser, with 251,300 mi on it and counting. My other set of wheels is my 95 Chevy K3500 extended cab 4x4 dually w/ 454cid gasser. Obviously I don't drive that as much....that's for more local heavy/large stuff.
