I know this is pretty far out, but I thought I'd give it a try before spending hundreds of dollars at a dealer. So, I have a 1993 XJ600S. I was putting on some new turn signals, and I got the rear ones on fine, but when I use them, they work, but the turn signal indicator light is not on. Also. my tachometer is way off from what I know the engine is running at. And lastly when I engage the front brake, the tachometer goes to 0 even though the engine is running. Could this be that I put on the turn signals on wrong and it shorted something out, or I know my battery isn't very strong so I don't know if any of that is related. Thanks for your help. I know this might not make much sense, but I'm 18 and just wondered if anybody knew before spending some big bucks.

    Yes.
    Undo everything you did.
You have some of the wires in the BirdsNest messed-up.

We will need to sort-out wiring and electrically check-out wires.
    You need a Test Light
    You need a Meter
    You need a Diagram.

Save the Instruments from being shorted.
Follow the PigTail from the Instruments to where they are Plugged into the Wiring Harness.
    Un-Plug them.

Then, ... we begin sorting and connecting the wiring after we have identified circuits and wires.
