    there is a problem you can get the colortune right but its the top end upper 3-4000 that you start to go lean not at the bottom end. if you havn't done the running test you prob not right. the tubilance is the problem with the diapham on top of the carbs.

    Many try it. That's what it means when someone selling it says "it needs a little choke to run, but it runs fine." The problem is this: The fuel metering in the carbs is really not that simple, and the enrichment circuit isn't designed to operate through all the ranges of throttle position.     Note that there are FOUR (4) independent throttle "knobs" that must be tuned...you'd have to be really lucky to ONLY be able to tune the WHOLE operating range with just one knob.

    You're probably right. It's only been running great for 6 years with nice tan plugs, no backfiring, no problems. It should all go to hell any second now.
