That's how my frame sits right now. I was wondering if I should remove the lower triple tree before painting. How did you go about getting the swingarm out?

Rudie; We covered swingarms already. The bigger (shaft-driven) bikes have real bearings and it just comes apart. Your 550 has nylon bushings and a spacer that you will likely destroy when removing them. Leave yours in, or be prepared to replace some parts.

I am amazed at how fast your projects go Wiz. Just one question, do you have a day job or is restoring bikes your day job?

Hi Murray, I have taken to using ready mixed acrylic for basic colours, from the auto paint store, it has a good cover & a deep shine. I'm using VHT caliper paint on some parts, but I have to wait until the wife is out to bake them.

Did you notice how bad the Wiz's hands were shaking in dread of the wife's sudden return when he photographed the freshly baked brake components?

    Them's the ones.

Being forward-facing, using acorn nuts is a better idea anyway.

Good luck finding those acorn nuts, they are 10mm x 1.25 fine thread. It took me a year to find some in stainless, but I got them. I had to buy 100 of them and they were not cheap but they made the difference in looks.
