Hey Guy's..... I'm still kick'in around every now and again! Busy with work out of province, but still enjoy pop'in in to check out the new builds. Thanks for the kind words, and feel free to ask any questions! I spent lots of time documenting this build to share with the XJ community, and am always willing to share my knowledge and/or experiences when it comes to bikes.

As for the risers Marshall..... I personally never tried them myself, but I am sure they will work out for you and look great, as that was the approx. clearance that I required.

    Thanks, Cheesy!

(This years projects include a 2003 Sportster, and an 1983 GPZ550)

Replied to your PM. I picked mine up through Motovan, but I'm sure Parts Unlimited would carry them if you do not have access to a Motovan Dealer.

Hey DW..... May just leave it stock for this upcoming season, and redo it next winter when I will have more time. I seen a newer sportster done up to resemble an older harley.....Really caught my eye. I'll post a picture once I get it off my laptop. Have a golf cart to re-do this winter as well....6" lift....23" tires....etc...

    Take Care, Cheesy!

Just cleaning up some pics on my computer and thought I'd finalize the thread with a few last shots I took before selling the bike.....

Never did end up doing anything with the Harley, but did a couple other builds since this one. None XJ related though.

That bike is a real piece of work! I'd have a really hard time selling something which must have taken so many hours! I'm sure the new owner loves it.

Thanks for the kind words guys!

I never ended up doing anything with either bike. Just rode the sportster for the summer, and sold the GPZ. Have had a couple custom Hayabusas since then, one slammed and stretched, one turbo. Other than that, picked up a newer GSXR1000 that I am currently riding now. Just haven't had the time to tackle any other projects :( Did manage to do up a 1981 MX80 last month though.

Not sure if you seen my other projects posted on this site or not, but there are a few if you look at my profile.

I'm glad it got bumped as well, some real nice idea's that I'm likely to copy if you don't mind Cheesy? If you're still around.

How did you attach the side panels? Looks like there was a plate welded to the frame for bolts to be attached to?
