I can agree to something that far in the future!

Reminders may be necessary though :)

    1. Cheap
    2. Good

Will be catching up with a suspension expert soon.

I'm not an expert but if I was I'd say ... Good. I had stock as it came with, now Ikon and a great improvement they are, tho I have no comparison. $440 to th PO. $$..yes, worth it ...yes.
Or did I jump th gun coz it was already on your list?

I'm a super big fan of the dual headlights you got there! Not such a big fan of the digital speedometers but they look great on the bike.

The Seca did come with a semi-digital panel :p
I don't see how that couldn't be taken to another level. For sure, this is something I want to do with my bike. Just look how much more "naked" it looks with smaller lights and gauges... *drool*

    It's looking great.

Have been trying to sort the front fork settings, and these forks from the XJ750P are different to the ones I can find specs for.
I have now gone to a 20 weight fork oil and 2psi and it seems better.

Have now clocked up 1200klms (about 750 miles) so far this month.

Wow, very nice work man. I also invested in the dual headlight setup. How are you liking them?

    OK
    3,000 klms on (with a 4 week holiday/kids period)

I have been working up to some country runs, for pure enjoyment reasons

Recently, I was doing the check levels and inspect bike pre ride look-see.

    and spotted this;

Now these tyres were unworn, but old as I knew the parts bike that supplied the wheels had sat for ages, I must admit to saying WOW when finding out I had done thousands of Ks with 10 year old tyres.

Wanna buy the rear of my T140 Bonneville - 24 years old and no cracking at all... though it is a little squared-off. It says a lot for Avon tyres.

Tyres are out of the way and Pumba is getting plenty of time on the road, which comes to the next part of the project.

Currently the only warning light for saving the engine is low oil 'level'

The Koso dash has unused inputs for 2 temp sensors with programmable flashing warnings.

I have just ordered a new sump plug so I can fit an oil temp sensor in it, and ordered some new head stud nuts for the head temp sensor to go into.

I also intend to add an oil pressure switch wired parallel to the low level switch.

    Pic update later.

On of the reasons for these mods is because of the bloody hot country rides here at the moment. 40++ deg (105++ for non Aussies) I want to know how hot the poor bike is getting.

I haven't even been in the garage to work on my bike this week due to our lovely heat wave, can't imagine riding in it.. sticking to the air-con'd Commodore til it cools down a bit!

Bought a new sump plug and modified it to receive a temp sensor, and made up a boss to bond to the cylinder head for the second sensor.

Will fit them up on tomorrows oil change and then check accuracy against an infra red temp gun.

The dash can be programed to flash a warning at a preset point. I'll have to research recommended maximum temps for air cooled engines.

The spare engine rebuild is still waiting on me finding oversize pistons :(

Pumba's old engine will get a serious test this coming weekend doing 1,400klms + (880 miles) in temps around 35deg C (95deg F)
