Is there any possible way water can enter the engine thru the holes you place your spark plugs into? One of my bikes was covered and today I messed with it and it appears to have filled with enough water to cover the plugs.Possible damage?(GSXR 1986)

The spark plug seal is gas tight ... therefore, also water tight.

If that could happen; there'd be warning in the Operator's Manual not to leave the bike parked anywhere where rain water might do that.

There'd probably be a another warning not to wash the bike; either. I routinely wash the whole engine with a strong solution of Dawn and the garden hose. Always looks good after the Dawn wash and rinse.

Soak it up with a rag or some paper towels and hit the road!

Water in your cylinders is not your problem. Like Rick said it is gas and water tight. The cylinder head however is cast with drain holes in the fins, so it should not have standing water around the sparkplugs. I would clean out the plug wells with an old toothbrush or something similar. Then you don't have to worry about water again.

I psyhoned(?) the water out.It seems to be ok.It was jsut sort of shocking that there was that much water in there.I had it running before i even noticed the water.I assume there is current running to the plugs and as we all know water and electricity don't mix well, but I reckon it is ok.thanks for the input.
