Rattling noise.

    My engine starts to rattle at about 5500 RPM's
    It starts out sounding like lifters rattling in a car engine, then progresses to a more distinct rattle. I have also noticed some vibration.
    Is this my cam chain?
    How big of a job is it to replace, and what cost am I looking at?
    Would I be able to repair it myself if I purchased that CD?

    Before you replace the chain you might just need to adjust it. Try the easy things first. My 550 had a vibration and the adjustment cured it. I,m sure someone with a 700 can tell you how. I don't know if its the same as a 550 to adjust.
