replacing fork seal issues

    If your thought on gaiters is to keep the forks clean and nick free so the seals last that is a fine idea.

    If your plan is to hide the leak then it's a poor idea.

    Yes it is. And I'd almost be more concerned about those (the vertical scratches) than I would the one nick. They look pretty deep. I can also see another 'ding' or two above and to the right of the larger one. Kind of a "double ding."

    Equally important is Carl's comment, gaiters are to prevent damage not hide it. Although I don't think that was the intent of the OP, it may have been by others in subsequent responses.

    tabaka45 due to the configuration of your forks, with the built-in fork brace and all, I don't know quite how you'd attach them at the bottom. On my 550, with "simply round" tubes at the top, it wasn't an issue; but I don't see what there is for a gaiter to "grab onto" on those forks. You might be able to find a set of the more contemporary "shields" that would work.
