So the question is, are 750 (seca or maxim, assuming they are the same length) a straight swap into the maxim, or are seca/maxim all the same length? What about the pin diameters?
    Thanks

A few years ago when I needed to replace my shocks, I just measured the distance "eye to eye", then went to a wrecker and picked up some very sweet Honda shocks that were almost new and matched the same measurements as my originals. Cost me $100.
If you are a hardcore racer then spend big on shocks, tyres, fork springs, pistons, exhausts if you can pay it, but I ride to work and occasional hard rides so I focus on value not so much performance.

Thanks mrblackstock, i just did a search, which I should have first off:

Looks like they're all the same give or take a half inch or so, the 750 maxim could be stiffer sprung. I have a chance on a pair of used ikon adjustables, as usual the seller is not specific on what they were specced for, but the info in the link gave me the what I needed. Thanks for replying, the silence was deafening...

I know the 750 Maxim regular shocks are the same as the 650 shocks and only have a heavier spring around them. The other 750 Maxim shocks look like air shock, and may be. The 750 Seca shocks have a different top. I don't know how they'd come apart. I haven't tried.

But if you have compressor, you could swap your springs out for heavier springs......
