    Yes-
    1. You can’t adjust your chain tension
    2.you can’t put a longer swingarm on without making a longer driveshaft
    3. You can’t get a rear sprocket to fit

    Shaft drive is one of the 'primary' reasons I bought my XJ. Bulletproof, but difficult to modify from standard.
    I'm hard headed about certain things. Shaft drive is best for guys that simply want to ride and forget about it.

    From dirt bike experience, it is no fun to ride till you get your boot lace caught in the chain.

    One of my four is chain, but I'd not take another one, although I've had plenty chainys in the past.
    All that bollocks about shaft reaction and bad handling is utter mince.

    Shaft drive is the main reason I love the Maxim X.
    It's the only Yamaha that combines it with the 5 valve Genesis engine.

    I like the shafties best... I do have a few chainies, but prefer the shafties
