shifting problem

Well.....I opened it up and found the "centralizing" spring was damaged.
I replaced all three springs......for $13. The only bad thing is..............
The problem did not go away!!!!!!!!!!!!
That one spring was definitely damaged, and I was almost positive it would have fixed this problem....It shifts up through the gears just fine,like before, and then downshifts from 5th to 4th, but after that it's all screwed up.
I really don't want to pull the motor, and hope somebody has another suggestion for me.
