Hello everyone, My mastercylinder is busted and leaks oil. I have not become successful to find a replacement and I cannot buy online.
However, I have decided to use single disc only instead of double. and replacing the mastercylinder for a lower bore sized master cylinder. Is that possible?
I have attached a pic, the caliper is belongs to my royal enfiend classic 350. it has 2 pistons and the mastercylinder resovoir is smaller than my xj's. so i wanted to know if i can use the one for a royalenfiend for my xj using single disc... Thanks

You're gonna spend more time and money trying to get something else to work than if you were to just get the correct equipment. If you're not able to buy online and have no choice but to use what is at hand, then I guess you have to use what's at hand........in either case, there's no point in asking here.

So, it seems there's only one choice: jerry-rig something to work, or figure out a way to order the correct part.

BTW, I wouldn't call brake fluid "OIL". You'll confuse some people.

Define "busted". It it literally broken into pieces, or is it just leaking?

If it's just leaking, you probably need a seal kit, and not a new master cylinder. Why can't you buy it online? Is it a shipping problem, or a payment problem?

What bike you have? I know you posted that before, but I don't remember.

Difficult to tell precisely from that picture - but i would say the total slave piston area of the twin pot is even greater than a single pot XJ caliper. In which case the master cylinder that belongs to it should be fine. Go easy at first though - might even be a bit sharp..
