Some stuff I did and got today!

First some speed holes on the sprocket cover...

Then my new battery box my friend had in his garage...fits like a glove!

 

what do you mean by speed holes? easy access to bolts or something?

 

i would have to say to look more race like or to make lighter or look lighter

Yeah it's called "adding lightness" racers do it all the time.

ALLEGEDLY true story: Elderly woman airline passenger notices the series of holes in the ribs inside the flaps when she is looking out the window. When the pilot comes back through the cabin she asks him about them. He answers, "those are lightening holes ma'am." She gets a very disturbed look on her face and says "for the lightning to go through?"

 

Oh, sorry---By the way, DW, you're gonna have all kinds of fun keeping those holes from filling up with chain lube/gunk unless you're running an o-ring chain... On the Radian, Yamaha had FAKE holes in that cover. They look cool though.

 

I think I am gonna put painted mesh filter screeens in them. We'll see.

then I cleaned up the wiring harness of all of this junk...

 

my friend, good job, looks like you lost about 1/2 a pound... but ya, im not gonna try and thin the harness on my cb, want to keep it easy to convert to origional

 

I wasn't trying to lose weight, just clutter...man this bike is gonna be sleek!

 

Don't huck the connectors or relays!!!

 

why? They will never, ever be back on this bike...anyone need 'em? They are outrageous to buy new...hmmm...ebay?

I wants connectors! They are expensive if you price out an entire harness but for one or two repairs they aren't too bad. I harvest the connectors out of old, dead harnesses as they pass through and use them to fix others. Relays could probably be sold to someone here for spares.

 

yes, 80 bucks for a relay is outrageous

(why don't you replace the relays with cheaper ones? i changed my bikes head light relay out with a 9 dollar one from advanced auto and it works fine, but i did have to bump my idle up a little so that it would stay on constantly ~1700rpm)

 

I see a lot of relays on ebay for decent prices. I even have a few listed here in case someone is in need. They are outrageous to buy new.

Electrical crap I bought today...



Its my main switch, start button, fuse panel, and neutral light.

 

made the switch panel today out of an old broken Magnavox DVD player shell/case. Used the perforated part to allow more air to the pod filter setup. Gonna paint and bake it tomorrow.
