    I expect you're right, I've not driven one. Trouble is that image often overtakes function - they do say that Range Rovers make half-decent off-road
    vehicles..

    I know that, my '08 Wabbit has 257,000 miles on it. And is still on the original clutch.

    In those 257K I've replaced the rear wheel bearings, the alternator and one idler pulley plus the belts. Plus of course brakes (once, 149K) tires, oil and air filters, spark plugs, etc. And that's it.

    Hence my desire to find another one; but I don't want a turbo and I do want a manual transmission.

    Hard choice to make, but don't let the maintenance be a factor. All cars are hard to diagnose and work on these days. My daughter got a new Ford Focus back in the spring, it wouldn't even turn the motor over yesterday because of a bad sensor . I have an 03' Ranger, tranny's been rebuilt 3 times. Ford used to be good with tranny's.
    Get the one that will make you happy.
