Yeah, that's why I liked it.. I was out looking at a Bonneville when my eye was captured by this sweet thing.. Took it out for a test ride and I just had to have it.. LoL, my wife didn't even know I wanted a new bike, I swapped my SV650 plus a packet of cash and came home with this and she asked me what had happened to my old bike..

They do still make them.. But they've never been available to the American Market for some reason..

The newer bikes (07 onwards) are fuel injection and have a single exhaust.. Nice bike too, but like you, I like the oldschool look, 4 into 1 into 2 with the twin exhaust.. That's how I ended up with it's older sister, my XJ.. It's got a lot of charm for an old lady.. I'm happy with her, when I'm finished the mods in a few days, I'll post a picture of the two..

The FJR is a sweet bike. In fact that will be my next bike. you can pick up used ones for decent price. Yamaha supposedly adjusted the throttle response so its not as jerky as the sport bikes, but still has all the power. test drove one, its a NICE ride. :D

Swissjon, your bike looked gorgeous back then! What happened to the further pictures you promised? Did you do something else on that black beauty?
My XJ400 is black too, and I can't wait to hear her engine roar!
    Cheers,
