I am in the process of making the above captioned bike road worthy again: carb cleaning, brake work, front fork seals, etc.

Yesterday I took the headlight off and there are spare/unused/extra connectors in there. A black and a black & white wire coming from each front turn signal with male connectors on the end, 2 black wires with dual female sockets that would accept those male plugs, a blue (dual connector) and a red female connector.

I've had the bike running and I haven't noticed anything not working.

    Is this normal?

    What a great list!!
    Jim

Have an 83 xj650 maxim and noticed the same thing as well last month when i put a chrome dressing flare in the headlight ring. Figured the extra conectors were for test equipment or extra light/guage hookups, never followed the wires to see what they did.

spare wires to a turn signal might be for running lights/turn signals
look at the bulb sockets for two contacts, that would mean running lights with a dual filament bulb
there might be some in there for the little aux light some models have
you should find a fuse in there too i think
