Spark plug wires

    what's the problem with it though? it was apparently sealed properly if I never had problems for the 2 years of riding it provided? i don't see the big issue and nobody else has chimed in

    Electricity takes the path of least resistance. The type of repair that you found on your wires will probably cause a misfire at some time, particularly in damp/wet weather. The spark jumping to the block or frame over a period of time can cause the coils or possibly the igniter to fail. The guys here are trying to make you into a better mechanic than the PO. Take Chacals advice and repair the wires properly.
