quick pic of the bike from the annual 9/11 memorial ride... from left to right: my wife's savage 650 (which my dad rode), my buddie's bobbed s40, my maxim 700, and my buddies ninja 250.

O bummer man, I had something come up and couldnt make it to the ride, i had friends go on it, they said there was WELL over 1000 bikes that went on the ride. something like 18 straight miles of bikes with no brakes in between. also heard yall got a great escort, roads blocked off and all. Im just east of State College, PA. Love to meet up sometime, at a ride or event man, check out your max and stuff.

the sun gazette said over 3800 registered day of the ride. it was crazy.

saw a maxim x on the ride but never got the chance to talk to the owner. one or two older maxim's as well but same deal.

i'd be up for meeting up sometime! i'm right in Williamsport.

toyed with the fender a bit tonight to get an idea what needs cut/modded/clearanced/etc...

i think it's gonna look pretty good when it all comes together. I want to trim the fender a bit so the rear sits about even with the rear axle. I also plan on cutting the stock seat down and reupholstering it for now with eventually plans for a springer solo seat.

apes came in... i'm expecting to see the plate mount and tail light here in the next few days.

also picked up some vinyl to re-cover the seat after it's cut down. hoping to pick up some hardware and metal for the fender struts so I can begin real mock up. :)

    Re: Strat's 85 Maxim project

plate mount and tail light came in today.

i'm gonna try rerouting the cables on the bike first to see if I have enough play in them for the apes (it's not THAT much rise over stock) so we'll see. either way, the clutch cable will be replaced before too long as a preventative maintenance thing (already had my throttle cable snap a month ago)

    pics to come

i'll probably do the one line in ss so i can ride the rest of the year and then replace the rest this winter. no sense in replacing the same line twice.
