Testin' water..?

I've got an old '78 YZ 250E motor. (and some plastics, bars, header,etc)
Bear with me if you would...
The motor is semi apart. At the time, I was in Abilene, TX and asked
around about having it rebuilt. EVERYBODY, Kept telling me. "Oh man,
You need to take it to blah-blah-blah... These guys are it!" Sooo, I took
it down to these guys and after 4 months of, "Well see", "So and so has
been sick", "Can't find a head gasket" on and on. I finally got pissed
off and went and gathered it up. It was running okay when I got the
bike. Just out of curiosity, I pulled the head and to me the detonation
on the piston looked purdy rugged..? I've since picked up a complete,
original gasket set in the Yamaha shrink wrapped packaging and a new
O/S piston. (That stuff was outrageous to find!) If anyone would have
any interest, I'll go down and put together some pics to give you an
idea of what is available. Did some horse trading a couple years ago
on the frame and wheels. Hung on to the motor thinkin' I'd drop it on
a kart at the time and ended up just setting a Briggs Animal on the
kart and gave it to my daughter... I really hate that the thing is just
sitting in a box and dead wood. Don't want anybody to be out any
bucks. Maybe some horse tradin' on some '85 XJ700 parts..?
