So I have some of these posted in other places on here, but this has been my labor of love for the past while. It's taken me quite a while to get her up and going, but this is my version of top to bottom, front to back "restorification" of a (now) lovely (IMHO) '83 SECA 900. I have other bikes, but they seem to be camera shy...

It may be in other threads too, but it bears posting again :)

have you had it up to speed at all yet? wondering how you find stability with the bikini fairing?

The fairing doesn't create much of a stability issue unless it's windy out. A really good cross breeze (20mph+) between barns and the like will push the handles a little, but not noticably more than the 20mph cross breeze pushes the profile of the bike. Maybe if you're really racing the thing and trying to drag knees it might be a little troublesome, but if I were up to that sort of thing, I'd get a steering damper!
Had her out on some highway close to shop. About 30 miles on the ODO so far (I'm surprised I've found that much time to ride lately) after getting her back together. Brake issues have been resolved and for that work I have a polished Al MC and resevoir (got tired of the paint peeling off).

Cool, don't plan on racing my baby but heard a few words on the fairing causing wobbles (even in the Haynes manual!!! 8O )

I know what you mean with the M/C, can never seem to quite get rid of that last little bit of brake fluid & there goes the paint again :( If I wasn't trying to be so anally original I might've stripped it & anodised it black, reckon that's look nice)

im in the process of looking for a good paint scheme for the 750. the tank has enough little dings and dents and the tail fairing is faded pretty badly so im looking for something different...

the 550 i bought as 4th owner. 3rd owner did a little band-aid fixing on it when 2nd owner smacked it into a car when he was walking it along while running, with the clutch pulled in. it sat from 1994 until 2006 when i didnt have time to ride. RickOMatic did a carb job for me and MiCarl got it running...

the 900 i bought on BigFitz's urging vs buying another 750 with a bad 2nd gear. MiCarl brought it back to life with tires, brakes, fluids, carb cleaning and rubber and coils. it currently has a repainted fairing (not in this picture) and new XJ4ever (Chacal) windscreen and turn signals...

the ZRX has pods and jets, a Muzzy header and Erion Racing (half of the Two Brothers Racing) can and a few other convenience mods...

the Goldwing is stock. it needs a new windscreen though. the one on it now has some sort of oxidation that ive yet to be able to clean with EVERYTHING ive tried...

okay, enough of me. post more pictures...

Try Brasso on the screen ;)

Like the 900, almost identical to my 750E-II, save the bigger engine & different exhausts (pointed out by hogfiddles) :D

A simple trick I learned from a painter friend, he did it to his acetylene gauges that were cloudy from age. He shot a coat of clear paint on them and they were crystal clear again.

Although the orange 650 isn't operating at the moment, I'm still proud of all the learning I obtained when doing the engine rebuild. The yellow 550 however is a blast to ride!

Has been fun restoring this bike. I still have some detail work to do to it. Didn't take any before pics, but this bike was rougher than a night in jail in Tijuana. The original color was red, though it was faded, rusted and eggshell cracked. All the chrome was rusted and the front of the engine was covered with tar and chip gravel that must of sprayed of from the front tire. The bike was pretty much abandoned and not taken care of. When I got it, it wouldn't run unless the choke was full on. Starts, runs and rides like a new bike now.
