Just wanted to vent some of my frustration.
Got a couple of HiTot carbs with the float bowl gaskets atteched to the carb bodies...
OLD CRAPPY gaskets at that :(
Gasket remover has taken several applications to free the first one.
Keep in mind I am being very careful not to break the hinge pillars.

Wow, i feel a bit better...at least until I have a whack at the next one
FLOAT GASKETS GO ON THE BOWLS!!!!
Let keep it that way :)

ya that sucks. I hate when people use loads of permatex on hard to reach stuff like some car water pumps. Seals for them but no fun for me trying to get it off and clean surface. some people . . . .

Or gobs of sealer on gaskets that need NONE.

My pet peeve is incorrect fastener substitution up to and including cross-threading or using a self-tapping screw where a machine screw came out.

Not to mention horribly overfilled crankcases, unlubricated (ever) chains...

Got dem low down dirty PO blues...

Ah, but if it weren't for all these inept previous owners, we'd have nothing to work on.
