    my digital speedo has a temp probe on it and running on the hiway it goes about 180 and when i get home and park it, it goes up to 260/280
    the probe in a aluminum block JBWelded to the can chain well by #2 plug
    so the gas must get pretty hot
    i have a 85 BMW that when new was recalled for vapor lock because the gas in the tank got too hot, they put insulation on the bottom of the tank....?
    do the float bowls feel hot? spray bottle with some water might cool them for a test
    could you do a compression test while it's hot? that could rule out the valves

    The water bottle sounds good I will try it. I did a compression test in the spring and I got 150 on 1+4 and 140 on 2+3 when warm.
    I would think that is good min spec is 128 I think.
