Diesel oils like the Rotella is usually pretty cheap, and there's lots and lots of motorcyclists that use it regularly with no issues.

Several people have been able to use modern car oils with the friction modifiers ("energy conserving" on the label) in motorcycles and still not had any problems with the wet clutch slipping -- so could be that they've changed the additive package to cause less issues with wet clutches.

Any oil is better than none - right? Most of us have experimented with a few different oils until we find one we like at a good price point.

Sorry to bring back an old thread and ask a dumb question but get over it. I live in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, I plan on riding only in weather above 50 and below 110 degrees, what weight oil should I use. Thanks
