XJ 900 Tacho not reading full scale of revs

    Having repaired the bashed in fairing on my 84 XJ900, replaced regulator and battery, fuse box.....she fires up and runs OK. but I noticed that the tacho only moves up to 3000-4000 rpm and seems pretty erratic. Any suggestions as to what to troubleshoot would be appreciated.

    Also Rick, if your' reading this and you are still chasing a belly pan for XJ900, I picked up a cracked one from the wreckers which I plan to patch up, take a fibreglass mould of it, then knock out a copy. I will be at work for a few more weeks, but if you still need one let me know and I'll do a couple.
