Hi Len, I have a 1982 XJ750 seca. Do you have the fuel tank clip set up to hold down the rear of the fuel tank. I have the rubber ring, plate, bolt but not the clip. It's a pain getting in there with a open end to take out the bolt. Using a large washer on the bolt.

Chacal, my parts arrived on Monday, ahead of schedule. I have been so wrapped up with the progressive springs that I forgot to thank-you.

Hey have you gotten any feedback from anyone on a new fork oil volume measurement with the aftermarket springs on my bike. I know the stock 309cc's will be too much and Progressive says not to go over 5.5 inches when measuring from the top but that is a maximum not a recommended level.

As usual from all the other comments, excellent service! I ordered a clutch cable and sprockets for my '82 XJ550 Maxim Thursday morning.

The usual 'depression' started without a running bike and the warm weekend weather on its way. I really didn't expect to see parts until Monday or Tuesday. When the USPS lady arrived at my house SATURDAY morning saying she had a package, I was thrilled.

Excellent Service. Excellent Prices. I'll keep coming back time and time again as I need parts.

 

More thanks to Len - he's helped me get the bike back up and running after a chain snap with new sprockets, a new chain, and some new rear brakes, all speedily delivered...but he also made me laugh, which is worth even more, these days!

Taking my rear wheel off, I noticed that there was a cotter pin I had NOT ordered a replacement for when I put my parts order in. Now, I'm not mechanically inclined, and my "part descriptions" tend to be on the order of "I need the whatzit that fits in that thingamajig there," so it's a credit to Len and his amazing descriptions that I've been able to find everything I needed...up to now.

I dug around in my Clymer guide for this particular cotter pin, which it showed as attaching on the end of the "brake arm." I went through Len's catalog, and for the life of me, I could NOT find a cotter pin that attached to the brake arm. So, I sent him the request, kind of vaguely detailing where the cotter pin was, and that it was "itty-bitty," not like the one on the wheel axle.

Well, after a few PMs back and forth, Len was able to nail down what I needed: "HCP4112 OEM rear drum brake backing plate tension bar retaining bolt COTTER PIN, tension bar to the backing plate or to the swingarm. Fits all XJ550, XJ650, XJ700, XJ750, and XJ900RK models. Use one on each end, total 2 per bike." Perfect! So I put the order in on Thursday (along with the exhaust port gaskets I needed), and when I get it today, what does the invoice read?

"Part # HCP4112 - Itty-bitty cotter pin"

I ordered 2 sets of grommets from the XJ4ever forum on 6/26. They shipped on 6/26 and arrived here today 6/29. That was alot faster than I expected. I will definitely order from Len again.

Darn USPS making Len look bad...I put in my 5th? order with Len on Monday and I was getting used to getting my parts in two days. So Wednesday I come home all excited, and no parts . Thursday same. Friday they finally come in and I look at the postmark date...7/6, the day I ordered them (and I'm sure just minutes after I placed my order), priority mail. Len=reliable USPS=not quite as reliable

Just ordered more parts from Len, and if this one is anything like the last three orders, I'll have everything, no mistakes, faster than I would have expected, for a great price! It will all be top-notch quality, packaged well, and I will be able to look up the part in the online catalog if I have any questions as to the orientation, lubricant, or proper installation.

I gotta admit that every once in a while, I find a couple of parts elsewhere that are a little cheaper than getting them from Len. However, it's usually not by much and his service so far has been IMPECCABLE (more than I can say for the huge online retailers). And, all of the other parts that are much cheaper from Len than I can find anywhere else, or that I can't find anywhere else, MORE than make up for a few pennies here and there. Therefore, I'm happy to order from him and give my money to a small business.

It's also nice ordering from somebody who knows the parts that he's selling. Most of the guys at the Yamaha parts counter have NEVER worked on a Maxim, and look at you like you're crazy when you tell them you're working on a 30-year old bike.

Parts just came today and are already installed. Just gotta balance and tune the carbs. i should be roaring around the streets sometime today. PS After great trepidation, I finally hit the start button to see if I did it all right. I know you wanted a video but, I was too big of a chicken to do that. Now I wish that I had! The old girl rolled right over after the first attempt. RPM's were at 6000 till I noticed the choke was full open. After I closed it, cut the RPM's by half. I still need to monkey with the carbs to dial it in right. Couldn't have done it without you! Thanks again

Hi Len,

Been meaning to post a replay regarding the UJoint and "Spin On" Oil filter kit you sent me. The parts arrived quickly and were in great shape (hey everyone, I highly recommend Len for parts!!! great communication too!).

The U-Joint is already in the bike, and I am getting ready to install the filter kit. I just wanted you to know about one slight issue, the K&N filter was supposed to be black, however it was white, and will stand out like a sore thumb. I'll paint it of course, but thought you might want to check your filters...

Got another order last week via priority shipping(my suggested method to anyone else)
The valve shims came in well, the Texas heat did stick the small bags to the shims. No biggie, just cleaned with oil and wiped down any "tackiness"
Thats what texas heat will do sometimes.
