Looking for a right side cover for an 83 XJ750 Maxim and the plastic placard that goes under the headlight and between the forks.

Once again, kudos to Chacal for coming through with the parts I needed and in real quick time. Makes cross border shopping a snap! Now if I could only fix my "no oil light" issue.

I ordered on a Friday, got the parts on Monday....Wow, that's fast! And I ordered late on Friday evening, too.

And the best part is that he doesn't use those f-ing styrofoam peanuts!

Floogle! I hate styrofoam peanuts, too! But I do use them for overseas shipping, as the weight savings adds up. However, I always use environmentally friendly, re-cycled f-ing peanuts that someone else had sent to me first, and I think it's only fair that I pawn them off onto someone else rather than dispose of them into a landfill somewhere.

But other than in those situation, for the most part no----no peanuts will ever be harmed in the course of doing business here!

Thanks for the props, and I'm just as amazed that you got your package so quickly, too!

I guess it really helps to be in business next door to the world's busiest airport.......

Hi Chacal,
I just bought a '82 XJ750 Maxim with only 3,300 miles. It's been sitting for a few years and when I bought it, the owner told me that the carbs needed cleaned and it didn't run. Now that I've found this site, it has given me the courage to tear into the carbs myself (Rick Massey's thread). The problem is that I've never done it before on a motorcylce so I don't know what all I need. I've started on the bottom end and the bowl gaskets were hard and brittle. The bowl wasn't too dirty but I can see some scum in some of the passages. I decided not to go any further till I get the right equipment for the job.

I've made a list of some of the tools I would like to get but I don't know what gaskets, seals and O-rings I should replace. I want to do it right the first time. Do you have a kit already made up with all the necessary parts?
