Xj550 nothing happening after relay replace.

    Xj550 Maxim, I shorted out a relay while riding and the bike would try to start but wouldn't roll over(no spark) and after replacing the relay not nothing is happening at all. I've checked the kill switch and the kick stand kill switch and still nothing. Any thoughts?

    what relay did you short out? and how if you know?
    and did you replace it with the correct relay?

    a list of your relays and locations
    XJ550 models:

    Flasher: on a tabbed bracket at the rear of the ignition coils rear mounting bracket. Nippondenso FU257CD and DOT 6944
    Flasher canceller: behind ignition coils.
    Starter motor solenoid/relay: behind the right side cover, behind the access panel, below the regulator.
    Starter/Ignition cut-off relay (no color): front of coil rear mounting bracket. inked 4H7-00, 4H7-01, or 12R-01
    Sidestand (kickstand) relay (blue): left side, behind rear frame cross tube. inked 4U8-00, 4U8-01, or 4U8-02
    Headlight relay (yellow): behind ignition coils, behind flasher canceller. 3H5-00
    Diode block: inside the headlight housing.
    Neutral switch: located inside the engine shifter case side cover.

    you may have a bad diode block

    battery voltage ? charge the battery

    do a voltage drop test hook meter to battery press starter button what do you get
