    Xj550H, thanks for the tip. Just one other thing,I was wondering if mine is 1986 or 1987, I see that the horsepower is much higher on 1987 then 1986.

    there is a letter in the 10th position of the vin code which stands for the year

    A = 1974
    B = 1975
    C = 1976
    D = 1977
    E = 1978
    F = 1979
    G = 1980
    H = 1981
    J = 1982
    K = 1983
    L = 1984
    N = 1985
    S = 1986

    your bike is not listed in the vincode section of this site but the date code should be the same is your vin 17 digets(and letters) long?

    thy this web site with your vin code
