    Hey all!

Basically, I've got myself a set of forks and a rear swing arm (single shock) off an xj600 that I want to fit to my 550.

    My question is:
Are the fork stem bearings the same?
And will the swingarm fit in place of the 550 one with no issues?

Now, I'm fully aware of the twin vs single shock and all the smaller implications of doing this. But it's all for a project.

Just want to make sure that they'll swap in before I start rebuilding brakes and fork seals only to find out they don't fit!

    Thanks in advance :)

Yeah I'm confident enough in the front section now :)

But really want to know if the swingarm will swap with minimal mods... Suspension aside.

    Which XJ600 donated your parts?
    Are we talking about the 84-? North American FJ600/Aussie XJ600 or the later 92-98 XJ600 Diversion/Seca 2?

I seem to recall reading someone here successfully installed a YX600 Radian swingarm into an XJ550, as they are both twin shock rear ends. Are you planning a mono-shock conversion to the frame or twin shock tabs welded to your swingarm?

Like Simmy says 1) which XJ600 are we talking 2) will the s/a fit the550 frame at the pivot point or does it need machining 3) where does the shock top mount and linkage mount points go (conflict with airbox) ?

I'd love it if someone can figure out an 'easy' monoshock conversion (that also retains the airbox) for the 550 but I don't think that will happen.

Hmm just looked at the Seca2 (Diversion) s/a and it is a much simpler arrangement than the earlier XJ/FJ. Howevr I think this lack of linkage means that the shock needs to be angled to coincide with the 'arc of travel' which may conflict with the 550 airbox. (Seca2 airbox being under the fuel tank)..
