XJ650 Air Duct 4H7-14437

    This little duct thing seems to be missing/discarded on a lot of 650 Maxims and Secas.

    Does that angled opening point at the air filter?

    I wonder why that is many times missing? I don't think there is a similar problem with the oval versions on the XJ700 models, but I might be wrong.

    My experience has been that it is a similar problem with the ducts on the 700s - at least my 700 was missing the duct when I got it.

    I think somebody looks at it and says "that looks like an unnecessary air flow restriction", takes it off, it gets forgotten about in the corner of the garage, and eventually pitched in the trash.

    These are a molded plastic on the 650s.

    Yes dan i think that people think that the air filter gets dirty only on the bottom, take it out so the whole filter can get air.
