I have a xj750 maxim with the simplier 650 axles on the front end, previous owners doing, but easier to maintain. However the axle leaves a gap beween the pinch bolt area and the wheel, where on the other side the speedo occupies that space. it would be visible while the wheel is completely assembled on the bike. does anyone know what this spacer is called? where i can get one? or is there something i can use from my local hardware store as a replacement?

Local hardware store? No. Not if you want to do it right.

The first task is to identify WHICH 650 front end you have, the dual-disc Seca or the single-disc Maxim with the caliper that pivots?

Once that's been accomplished, we would look in the parts fiche. http://www.yamahapartshouse.com/oempart ... ycle/parts

Or, just get ahold of chacal (XJ4Ever.) But again, you'll still need to positively identify which 650 front end is on the bike.

    There's also a 650 TURBO front end . . . +1 on getting the right part.
