XJ650 on air

    The 900 and the 1100 had rear disc brake, not sure about the length.

    The Venture Royale (and other bikes) use the rear brake to also activate SOME of the front brake. You would want to choose a rear MC with the added capacity.

    My foggy memory says a 900 swingarm does not bolt into a 650/750 frame. I could be wrong.

    I will probably use a small car MC (i have a few aircooled VW's around here in various stages of restoration) with a proportioning valve.. Hoping for a semi-bolt on trailing arm/wheel option - and if i got my entire christmas list, the wheel/swingarm would be bigger (od/length only - not width) too..

    I am kind of surprised this subject hasn't been beaten to death elsewhere..

    howdy prOzac,the widest part at the front of the swingarm that house the bearings is approx 288mm and the length of the swingarm from bearing centre to axle centre is approx 455mm.this is for a 83 xj900.cheers scruff

    I love to see a good chop session. Saw all, side grinder and a welder are my favorite tools. Dont let the negitive waves get in your way of creating something different. Looks like your getting close. I'd go bigger than a 650 though. Love the slammed look. Dirty
