r u talking like just making solid struts instead of cutting and modifying the frame?

Assuming this is towards my prev q.
I'm talking about modifying the frame(although struts would be the same story),
"normally" (what's normal :? ) the upper rails(and lower rails) will go to an axle plate. In this case the upper rails runs to the shock mount. This is just a fairly small strut/bolt, which might be fine when the shocks compress to take the impact. Now however that strut will carry all the impact. Not too sure if that will actually hold up.
I've seen it done a number of times but I still can't stop poundering about it

I have solid struts on my bobber, that are mounted where the factory springs are, and I've been riding it like that hardtailed. and I weigh 360 lbs. so Im sure if it hold me it will hold you!

i drew the line i wanted with a permanent marker and just beat it in with a hammer i spent about 2 hours taking my time to get the lines right the reason i did it is i figured if i screw this tank up il get a peanut tank so i wouldn't attempt if you don't have a backup plan but its pretty sweet i must say you dont see it done a whole lot anymore

haha I rigged mine up to hold itself. I found the middle link that I wanted on top, hooked a coat hanger to it, then hooked that to a string that I tied to a rafter in the garage and pulled it up tight and tied it up there to hold the chain in place so I could weld it. my dad came home saw what I was doing and goes WTF are you doing, i said its my homemade device he laughed and said INGENIOUS!
