Xj650 Rat Bob update

    Yeah thanx shooter my father inlaw did some bondo work on the tank to smooth it out .the bike isn't completly finished still I gotta get a new wiring harness the grips and taller seat springs are on they're way and I still need to black wrap the exhaust get white wall tires and probably a set of forward controls from tcs bros getting close I can't wait to ride hopefully before it starts snowing and getting icy

    i got the seat from low brow customs springs from jand p and the front pivot for tc bros choppers havent posted a pic yet but i got my grips today

    thanx man i still need the wiring done i got it running for about 2 days i traded a hunting back pack for a harness from an xj750 seca which worked when i had it hanging off the side of the bike but when i tucked it away i went to start it an the ignition unit caught fire so if anyone knows where i can get another harness in good condition please let me know

    Sounds like a direct short and you'll probably need another ignition. If you have a good minimal diagram just wire it up yourself and use a universal ignition. There's a couple of diagrams in the threads if you need one.

    yeah i have the diagram but it doesnt make sense enough for me to do it im not very keen with wiring i can do eveything else that i need to pretty much no problem

    painted all the removable engine and tranny parts black pretty messy and found out why my battery never charged the brushes for the stator were broke off

    the welds at the fender broke so i cut it off im gonna put a longer trailer fender on pretty soon anyway so i can fit a pillion pad so i can have a passenger or luggage fit there too also with it off it make it easier to get on and of without having to lift my leg so high
