I was going to put new tires on my xj700, seeing how they are still the orginals but don't look bad. Guess I don't need a blow out to bad.
So I was looking at the Shinko 230 Tour Master of the Shinko 777 HD. But I don't know if that brand is ok or not. Kinda trying to keep on budget and see some tires are well over a 100 a piece. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The date code will tell you if they are originals.

Shinko is a great budget tire that gets good reviews. I have some older ones on the Kaw. I rather ride those than 30+ year old tires

it has been stated here that the costlier tires will last longer than the shinko tires, more miles.
so in the end the tire you choose should be determined by money you have, how you drive and how many miles per year you drive
if you drive enough miles that you would have to replace the shinkos in a year you may want a higher mileage tire
or replace them yearly and you will have new tires every year
when I priced out my shinkos they were half price or less of most other tires.
if thats all you got to spend get them and save up for higher mileage tires next time and if you find that you like the shinko value
    buy them again.
its not us riding your bike or spending your money.

you should see my rant on hevay duty chains VS o ring chains ROI Return on Investment.
which has changed now that o ring chains have dropped considerably in price can buy o ring and sprockets for the same price I paid last year for non oring and sprockets and more have the snap link instead of riveted master link.

back to tires the shinko has a center grove on the front tire which can cause tracking on concrete roads, grooved roads and steel grid bridges so if you have a lot of them in your riding area you may want to find a different tire
