Hey guys I have a few ideas and was wondering your thoughts.
I wanted to hollow out the mufflers in the stock exhaust and replace the hpipe underneath with a custom made 4 into 2 pipe any ideas if that will kill the back pressure ? And make me have to jet the carbs (I don't wanna jet them)

If you blow out stock baffles you will have to rejet. What condition are the stock mufflers? If there good save them and trade with one of the " Collective" that need good originals. There are 4/2 aftermarket exhaust systems out there, ask around. Someone will have a system to start with.

Hollowing the stock mufflers will be a PITA due to how they are constructed. They have multiple baffles (think automotive muffler) and you can't just drill out from the back. Thye are also gettin harder to find in good condition and are starting to be worth real money.

The stock exhaust is a low-backpressure system anyway, so unless you're just going for a change in looks you may as well keep it.

There are 4-1 exhausts on the market. If you want to make one just start with the stock headers and build back fromt there, using the non-stock muffler of your choice.

My exhaust is rusted out the hpipe has a rot hole in it and the stock pipes in the back are rotted inside the baffles. I love the way the stock exhaust looks was figuring I could clean it up and fix what I have because I'm one of the people needing good original ones haha

I took an exaust from a Kawasaki (I think that's what it was paid a shop paid 20 bucks for them) cut out the cross over section pluged the hole and made my own dual 2 into 1 exaust with stock muffler and header pipes I'm having them cleaned up and painted right now, I'll post a picture if the shop is done with them tonight

Welding the crossover shut is not ideal, but it'll work without needing to rejet.

The problem I ran into was the crossover section hit the oil pan so that's why it got cut out, but because there is minimal back pressure it did not effect the performance of the bike, that and its what I found and I made it work, it took a while to get everything lined up properly had to spot it on the bike then take it off to seal it up (flux core welding is a pain)
