Restoring a 1983 xj750K Maxim I bought from TooManyBikes in Canada. Bike didn't come with LH controls so I'm trying to adapt xj650 Maxim LH controls. The male 6-pin connector that xj650 LH controls normally plug into are located in the headlight bucket, but this xj750 harness does not have a connector there, it seems it's about midway under the tank (see 1st photo). And it's also a male 6-pin connector (see 2nd photo, showing a wire connector from a spare xj650 LH controls). Maybe I just need to wire in an extension out to the headlight bucket or something like that? Anyone here have experience with this sort of deal and could offer a solution? 750 left control connects at the connector under the tank.
you could get the mating connectors and pins from chacal and make an extention to run down to the tank connection.

Get the proper 1982-83 XJ750 Maxim LH control switch............it will work properly and you'll be happy that you did! There's lots of them on eBay........just make sure it is for the XJ750 MAXIM, not a Seca model.

+1. Modifying the 650 control to work is inviting problems to occur later.
