82 Seca 650 camshaft sproket and cam timing problem

Hi guys and girls

The rebuild is comming along great . I fixed the broken spark plug and install set a new gasket . How ever i didnt pay enough attention to timing when i took it apart . I do have the instrustions from the dealer but they are realy vage ( no pictures) what i have done is Line up the mag on the T mark . the camshaft center holders have arows and i lined them up with the dot on the camshaft . What puzzles me is that the cam sprockets arows dosent line up with anything . I slowly turned the engine ccw 2 times with no ploblems so the vales arent hitting . I am worried that i may be on the overlap since that the arrows on the sprocket dont make sence .

I alsow looked here for a guyed but i didnt find any If there is a guide here please send me the link.

First off, you posted this in the "Shop Review" forum, and you have a technical question.

There isn't a "guide" here as far as I know, but plenty of members willing to help.

You need to re-post your technical question in the tech forum, "XJ Chat" and start looking for a service manual.
